The effects of bilateral robotic priming when combined with three different training therapies

  • Persons with stroke received 6 weeks of bilateral robotic priming combined with either mirror therapy (R-mirr), bilateral arm training (R-bilat), or movement-oriented training (R-mov).
  • Upper limb motor function was assessed using the Fugl-Meyer Assessment upper extremity subscale (FMA-UE), ABILHAND, and Stroke Impact Scale (SIS), in addition to lateral pinch strength and accelerometry.
  • The investigators concluded that R-mirr was more effective at enhancing upper limb motor improvement.
