Relationship of tau PET with cognition and other biomarkers in dominantly inherited Alzheimer’s

  • Tau positron emission tomography (PET) binding is increased in symptomatic individuals with dominantly inherited Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and is associated with cognitive impairment and other disease biomarkers.

Why this matters ?

  • Tauopathy is a hallmark pathology of AD with a strong relationship with cognitive impairment; understanding tau could lead to promising clinical interventions.
