Magnetic resonance elastography analysis of children with cerebral palsy

  • Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) shows that children with cerebral palsy (CP) have reduced stiffness and higher damping ratio in several brain regions-of-interest (ROI) versus those without CP, even at the lowest levels of cognitive and motor impairment.

Why this matters

  • MRE, which has not previously been used in studies of CP, might offer a new, non-invasive method to improve diagnosis and evaluation of CP in children.
