Hebbian stimulation treatment for spinal cord injury

In a small randomized controlled trial of individuals with chronic spinal cord injury (n=31), individuals treated with Hebbian stimulation targeting corticospinal-motoneuronal synapses of multiple arm and leg muscles improved walking speed and corticospinal function to a greater extent than placebo.
The authors concluded that Hebbian stimulation offers a useful treatment for chronic spinal cord injury, resulting in greater mobility, physical function, and improved quality of life.
