Fatigue is common in people with MS and is more prevalent in progressive disease


  • The impact and severity of fatigue are associated with higher levels of disability, poorer quality of life (QoL), greater anxiety and depression, poor cognition and reduced sleep quality in people with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Why this matters

  • Fatigue is a common, complex, multifactorial and disabling symptom of MS, but to date there is conflicting evidence of the relationship between fatigue and clinical features of the disease.
