Evaluation of non-contrast CT imaging for identification of cerebral venous thrombosis

  • Prespecified indicators based on attenuation proportional to tissue density in regular non-contrast computerized tomography (CT) scans were not sensitive enough to rule out cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT).

Why this matters

  • A test for CVT that is less invasive than CT venography (CTV) with contrast is desirable.
