Association between lacunes, cognition, and motor function in patients with Parkinson’s Disease

  • Multivariate analysis demonstrated that the presence of lacunes in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) was negatively associated with disease duration, gait speed, and time spent on Trail-Making Test part A (TMT-A) than those PD patients without lacunes.
  • Authors concluded that lacunes were independently associated with worse cognition and may accelerate disease progression in patients with PD.
