Why this matters
The RT-QulC assay is a highly sensitive assay for prion detection that has been shown to accurately detect misfolded α-syn in the CSF of patients with DLB or Parkinson’s disease.
The diagnostic value of this assay in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a common manifestation of prodromal DLB, has not been previously studied.
